2014 EL RENO GRASCAR KART RULES

If anyone other than President  or Vice President  edits or changes any rules posted in docs, files or any where associated with El Reno Grascar Facebook, that person or persons will be removed & face possible suspension from track and or loss of points!!!

125cc Outlaw class

Single cylinder, two-cycle, single carburetor motorcycle dirt bike or Quad engine not to exceed 135cc displacement. Stock OEM Stroke.

No slipper clutches.

Weight with driver shall be a minimum of 370 pounds.

Age 10 and up. Younger drivers may petition to enter the class. It will be on an individual basis, with President & Vice President making final decision, based on experience and ability.

Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer reading of 50 or above

250cc Outlaw class

(250cc 2-Stroke)

Single cylinder, two-cycle, single carburetor motorcycle dirt bike or Quad engine not to exceed 265cc displacement. Stock OEM Stroke.

No slipper clutches.

Weight with driver shall be a minimum of 420 pounds.

 Age 13 and up, younger drivers may petition to enter the class. It will be on an individual basis, with President & Vice President final decision, based on experience and ability.

Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer reading of 50 or above

(250F 4-Stroke)1. No overbore, some manufacturers have different cylinders A,B,C etc. As long as it falls within the parameters of OEM specs you are ok.2. Stock stroke3. No slipper clutches4. Carb. or fuel injected is legal, single carb only5. No porting, no welding of ports, no port angle changes, etc.6. No lightening of flywheels7. Gas only, race gas -ok no additives8. Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue, (protruding outside of nerf bars etc.)9. Weight with driver shall be a minimum of 420 pounds.10. Age 13 and up. Open 500cc Outlaw class

Single cylinder, single carburetor or fuel injected Two-cycle or Four-cycle motorcycle dirt bike or Quad engines that are not to exceed 550cc

No slipper clutches

 Weight with driver shall be a minimum of 450 pounds.

Age 15 and up, younger drivers may petition to enter the class. It will be on an individual basis, with President & Vice President making final decision, based on experience and ability.

Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer reading of 50 or above.

Junior – 1

Drivers age 5 to 10yrs

Weight #250 (kart and driver)

AKRA Box Stock 6.5 HP Clone Style OHV Engine must use restrictor plate .425

*IKF/WKA Briggs & Stratton Animal. Must use 3-hole .225” Purple  restrictor plate

87 Octane Gas Only

Approved exhaust system- AKRA CLONES, WKA BRIGGS

Stamped steel drum shoe type clutches only

Open Tire (any tire or compound), Wings optional

Briggs & Stratton animal will be allowed 2013 season only to help the transition to clones

Junior – 2

Drivers age 7 to 11yrs

Weight #285(kart and driver)

AKRA Box Stock 6.5 HP Clone Style OHV Engine must use restrictor plate .550

*IKF/WKA Briggs & Stratton Animal. Must use 2-hole 275”/325” Blue restrictor plate

87 Octane Gas Only

Flat karts

This class will follow the Most CURRENT AKRA Box Stock (BS) Engine rules with the

following EXCEPTIONS listed below. In the event the AKRA rules conflict with El Reno GRASCAR rules, The President & Vice Pres. will resolve the conflict. Their decision is final. If your clone engine is legal to compete with American Kart Racing Association (AKRA) classes you will be legal to race at El Reno GRASCAR

PRO CLONE DIVISION CLASS EXCEPTIONS

Adult Clone Flat karts

Ages 13 & up

Weight #350 (Kart & Driver)

• Box Stock 6.5 HP Clone Style OHV Engine only

• Un-restricted (No Restrictor required)

• 87 Octane Gas Only

• Open Header (can be manufactured or man-made)

• Open Clutch

• Slick Tires only (no treaded tire) no siping

• No battle bars

• LARGE ZIP-TIE on spark plug wire (with end pointing UP) is recommended

• Must be pull cord started

• No machining or grinding permitted

• Aftermarket Air filter and adapter is allowed

• Timing and Flywheel Key is non-tech

• No Stacked Gaskets in carburetor or between head and carb

Jr Clone Flat karts

Age 10 to 16

Weight #275 (kart & Driver)

• Box Stock 6.5 HP Clone Style OHV Engine only

• Un-restricted (No Restrictor required)

• 87 Octane Gas Only

General Kart Rules & Safety Equipment for ALL KART CLASSES

Frames 

1. Any production/purpose built racing chassis.  Motor must be mounted beside driver.

2. Frames must be constructed of metal.  No aluminum or conduit tubing.

3. All karts will be outfitted with Roll cage.  Roll cage must be a minimum four-point either bolted or welded to frame. does not apply to flat karts

4. Minimum of 3" head clearance to roll cage.

5. Minimum four-point seat belts bolted to frame or roll cage.

6. Front and rear bumpers are required.  Bumpers must be of tubular design.  No flat style allowed. Maximum width of rear bumper may be no wider than tire sidewall to sidewall width. Maximum width of front bumper may be no wider than frame rails.  Lowest rail of Bumpers may be no higher than 4" from ground. 

7. Nerf bars are required.  Nerf bars may not protrude past tire sidewall.

8. All karts must have adequate protection over driver’s feet.                                           
 9. Wings on roof or front allowed. Top wing sides must stay within 3” from outer most edge of kart No sharp edges.
10. All karts must run chain guard – no exceptions.

Weights

1. All weights added to kart, must be bolted to point of attachment with adequate fastener.

2. All weights must be painted white, so they can be seen if they fall from kart onto track during race.

3. All weights should have kart number on them for identification.

DRIVERS

1. All drivers must wear a DOT approved, Full Face safety helmet with complete eye protection.

2. All drivers are required to wear long sleeves and long pants. A drivers suit is highly recommended but not required for pump gasoline.  Drivers suit is required for alcohol fuel.

3. All drivers will wear an approved neck brace and arm restraints with no loose ends or they will NOT race.

4. Gloves are highly recommended.

Younger drivers may petition to enter a class. It will be on

an individual basis, with President & Vice President making final

decision, based on experience and ability.

Tires & Wheels  Any 5" or 6" diameter steel or aluminum wheels.

Brakes

Mechanical or Hydraulic disc is recommended.  No scrubber style brakes.  Must stop kart in a safe distance.
